I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I know – I just kinda disappeared for a while there. I don’t call, I don’t write, but come on, internet, you know I love you… don’t be like that, baby. We’ve had some illness (not serious and not mine) and birthdays and mother’s days and general obligations to attend to but I’m back!
So for anyone who’s interested here’s how things are looking at work one month in:
1) High heels are out the window (no! not literally. These weren’t wedge heels, people, and a falling stiletto could kill a passerby).
2) I’ve been consuming a lot of alcohol (both at lunch on patios and during working hours at off-site meetings and wine & cheeses) (incidentally, I think I’ve also upped my consumption of alcohol at home which is odd and leaves me to believe that either a) that whole “the more you have the more want” theory is true; or b) marketing drives people to drink) (on that note, it’s 9:22 a.m. and I’m staring at an unopened bottle of wine on a creative director’s desk and desperately want to open it and drink some. IT’S 9:22! Has working made Kirstin a full-fledged alcoholic? A new theme to explore in the coming weeks)
3) I’ve got a clear idea of where the kitchen is and almost always get there on the first try.
4) I still haven’t done a lot of actual work but I have high hopes for the coming weeks.
5) The Lady Laser has yet to be ridden since that one first time but I was inspired yesterday by a rather rotund woman biking along King Street really, really slowly. I feel like I may have been able to pass her and it gave me a bit of motivation to try it again (not enough to actually ride in this morning, mind you, but I have to work up to these things)
